The Center of Oregon around Bend area has so much to offer especially to nature lovers, lakes, mountains, waterfalls , hiking trails and natural hot springs are close and almost every road we took was awesome.
South of Bend
HWY 58 from Crescent Lake toward Oakridge is loaded with waterfalls among them Salt Creek Falls, Diamond Creek Falls that are reached after a short walk from the trailhead.
We were lucky to experience the change of weather and see the first snow on top of the mountains as we drove this scenic HWY.
This scenery together with almost empty roads just makes my day.
We found a great place next to a lake to have our picnic tail gate style....enjoying the peace and quite around us.
The lakes the marinas and the resorts along the way are almost deserted at this time of the year but never the lest the atmosphere and the abiance are just great.
After hiking the falls and enjoying the ride McCredie Natural Hot springs is the best place to end the day before heading home, 100-120 F near a very cold running stream….woow.
HWY 138
Similar to HWY 58 this HWY can keep one busy for months without repeating things again.
Diamond Lake,Tokkette Falls 240 F high, Watson Falls and many more are just there to be discovered.
It was amazing to be in all these places almost alone at this time of the year, I wonder where are the people but have no complains....
Crater Lake
Woow this was a special treat , we heard on the news that the place had heavy snow last night and the West Rim is closed BUT this only made us more anxious to grab our heavy coats and take a drive to this magnificent lake seeing it few years back in the summer.
It is difficult for me to describe the scenery of the Blue colors of the waters , the mountains covered with fresh snow ,the clean fresh cold air so I will let the pictures "talk"
North Of Bend
Cove Palisade S.P, Smith Rock S.P are just 2 out of many other nature attractions in the area, we can't visit them all but we are trying and what we do not visit this year we will next year, it is not a rabbit and will not run away, I believe in doing a "deep" visit rather than covering grounds.
We are getting to the end of our 15th RV summer trip, we have to clean and store the rig before taking a long flight back home, it was another great summer, we meet good people and with some we stay intouch while with some we shared pleasant time and might never see them again.
Thanks for checking our website, have agreat winter and see you all next summer.

Such beautiful gorgeous waterfalls. I love your hikes and I'm glad you had such a wonderful time this summer. Our only visit to Crater Lake was in the snow and it was incredible. Have a safe trip home and we'll follow you again next summer.
