A stop in Toronto on the way home

Having some kids and grand kids living in Israel and one in Toronto led us to this simple solution , each summer on the way to collect the Rig from the storage place we stop for a few days in Toronto to see the kid and sniff the grand kids, at the end of the trip (usually after 4 months )we fly from where we stored the rig to Toronto before heading home.

It worked perfectly for the last 17 years and gives us the opportunity to do our summer RV trips each year AND see our Canadian family twice a year.

So here we are in Toronto enjoying the time with our Canadian family just before heading home.

Celebrated Noam's birthday , the guy is 3 years old and so clever...he speaks half a sentence in Hebrew and the other half in English, sometimes it is so funny.

He had a celebration in the kindergarten and one for the family and friends.P1050838

He was more shy in the kindergarten where all the attention was focused on him , but boy see him in the family birthday he was just like fire..

Autumn in Ontario is always a symphony of colors, clear skies and cold weather so we manged to do some out side walks some with the gang and some alone when they are in the kindergarten from 9am till 5pm .

A stop in Toronto on the way to pick the rig

Our 4th Granddaughter Rony turned 12 (Batmizva)and following our tradition we took her Rving with us we did with our other grand-kids reaching that age, in my oppinion it is the right age to take them ,they are not small kids and still will appriciate very much the memories from this trip.

We took a “short” 12 hour direct flight from Tel-Av iv to Toronto to visit our youngest son and his great family,we usually visit them twice , once on the way to the trailer and second on the way back ,this way we see them twice a year spending quality time and watching then grow, and they grow fast...

This way it also “breaks” the long trip from home to the winter storage where we left the rig at the end of the trip last year.

It usually takes a few minutes for them to “warm” up to us after seeing us only on Skype for the whole winter especially when we give them the presents….

Stating with them in the same house ,being with them from the morning when they wake up till they go to bed is a lot of fun although at the end of the day we are worn out...

On the next day it was all one big party, food family and a lot of catching up.

I still have to “survive” to be able to take them all by the time they reach the age of 12-13 ,I promise to do my best….

A day in downtown Toronto

The main reason for stopping in Toronto is to visit our youngest son family , we have done it many times during the last 16 years, it is always a stop we make in the Summer flying from home to the trailer wherever it is stored and at the end of the RV trip we stop again on the way home.

Toronto is a huge city , it has it all, great Malls, high buildings, University, industrial area, Underground and beautiful living areas, but most of all we love the downtown area where old buildings are still standing surrounded by coffee shops, markets and a lot of colors.

Parking is an issue as in all big cities ,so we used the underground to get into the down town area, it saves time and money.

Before we entered the market place we decided to eat Dumplings in China town, it where many Chinese eat ,so it must be good , and it was ....

Now even though we walked in the market surrounded by smells from all the cooking we were not tempted to crab anything along the way.

It was cold with crispy clear sky but we were ready for it and dressed accordingly.

The China Town area is a great place for a walk, many bargains on clothing can be found here although the quality wise it is of course not the best.

Let's hope that Mona Lisa will continue smiling on the old wall of the building and that this area will remain unattached.
