From Linwood NC to Rosman NC

The Crosswinds C.G owners in NC Arthur and Glenda made everything to help us get on the road,they picked us up from Charlotte A/P to their C.G,helped us transfer the rig from the storage area to a regular site with full hook ups and pointed us to places where we could service our truck and get groceries .

After 3 days we were ready to hit the road,it was not easy to say good buys,some times there is a “click” between people instantly and that what happened to us,so it took some time but finally we hit the road to our next stop in Rosman NC in Transylvania County.

The trip was 200 miles long but took around 5 hours due to traffic jams along the Hwy next to Charlotte but finally we arrived to a fantastic country side C.G nestled between mountains with a running brock along the C.G.

   

The owners are a friendly couple that let you feel at home as you enter the place,it was tough to get in the C.G from the Hwy ,it is down hill and across a narrow bridge but rewording  at the end,and if you like a remote quite country side C.G with a brook and some chicken running around surrounded with many waterfalls –this is the place for you.

As we made our way  slowly on the bridge a guy was helping us make our way by directing us carefully,once we entered the C,G we were greeted by people all around ,it was like meeting a group of people we new,what a great  feeling it was.

 

 

 

The C.G is located in the middle of Transylvania County NC also called the Waterfalls land http://www.visitwaterfalls.com/ and we plan to hike as many waterfalls as we can during a week or so (will post pictures in future posts).

On our first evening we were invited to share a BBQ by one of the “residents” what turned to be a very pleasant evening and we made plans to hike together on the next day.

 

It was great day to start our 2012 summer trip,we are looking forward to new exciting adventures mixed with planed agenda and unexpected surprises –that’s how we like it.

Have to pack things for tomorrow’s hike-good night it is 1030 PM and I am ready to call it a day…

Finally got together (with the rig)

Imagine the rig stored far away for the whole winter,you can’t see it ,touch it or make sure it is “feeling” ok,you cannot prevent mice to enter or move it to a safer place if by chance a branch from a tree is getting closer to the roof,now imagine your long trip to your trailer and finally the happy meeting….and the first moments of the inspection around ,under and inside the trailer,what a thriller.

We flew 12 hours to Toronto and after 4 days another 2 hours to Charlotte NC and then an hour on the road and after 7 months we finally meet….All is OK,the truck started like magic,the fridge started to cool,the slides opened and no mice only lady bugs…what a relief…so first thing we pulled to a site in the same C.G ,hooked to electrical and had a MARGARITA under the dirty owning…this is LIFE we said with a smile.

We managed to get some products from a  store close by and celebrated the event in the local dinner before hitting the sack.

Tomorrow I scheduled to service the truck and later to shop for groceries,the day after we will clean the truck and trailer and off we go to new places and new adventures till October when it all starts again.

Life is good,live, laugh,enjoy and RV-see you all down the road.

On the way to our 11th RV summer trip

Sorry for the long silence but as most of you RV travelers that have the Rig next to them and the possibility to “play” around with it during the “off” season we leave the beloved RIG at the last stop of our trip in North America  and fly home not seeing it till the next spring.

We spend the winters with family and friends ,plan the next RV trip that is till now always to new to us destinations and pray to find the RIG unharmed .

So we are happy to announce that we are back in business and made the first leg flight from Tel-Aviv to Toronto and from 33 Celsius hot and sunny to 14 Celsius and rainy….not a preferred change,but we are happy and plan to spend few days with our son in Toronto before taking the next flight to Charlotte NC where the Rig is stored.

In Charlotte we will spend a few days to get supplies (the Rig is clean and empty),service the Truck and Trailer before we start to move.

Getting ready to hit the road again…

As some of you already know we are  RVing  every summer for 5 months since 2002 ,each summer to different States/Provinces,at the end of each trip we store the rig for the winter and pick it up again on the next Spring.

So here we are getting ready for our 11th RV trip starting from Charlotte NC and ending the trip in Ontario Canada.

I have done all the planning (which I enjoy very much) for a trip of 5 months and then our youngest son told us that he is getting married in October (I am happy that it is not doing it in the middle of the summer…LOL) so I had to go back to the board and do some changes to fit a trip of 4 months, here is the result.

Some might wonder why 4 months on a “short” route like this,well we love to hike especially to waterfalls or look outs,attend shows,meet people and really experience the place rather than just go by as tourists,so we use a central location C.G and do side trips with our truck till we feel that we have so called covered the area before we move again to a new location.

Each year besides the hikes and the normal stuff we try to do something special such as ,white water rafting,work on a cattle ranch (that was really fun,I can still feel my back till now..),canoeing,ATV ride,horse rides,rodeo so this year "special" we plan to attend a reenactment in West Virginia.

So there is a lot to look forward for ,the tough part is the “waiting” time as many of you know.

The size of Israel

I was asked by many of my friends that live in the USA,Canada and Europe about the size of Israel and the geographical location,so with out many words I will let the pictures tell the story.

 

 

 

                

                

 

So as you can see it is small BUT beautiful take a look Imax fly over Jerusalem

Now you can also understand what goes through our heads when we RV in the USA or around lake Michigan that is the size of the whole country.

We used to say that we have everything - small and only ONE,one lake,one Mountain,One river ,one desert and one Dead Sea.

On one of our RV trips in the US  I saw a vehicle plate from  Minnesota that says “10000 lake State” (they have more than 16000 lakes) so I asked the person to give us ONE lake so it will Double the number of lakes we have and Minnesota will not even notice ….It did not work somehow…

Purim-Jewish festival

Purim is a Holyday where we all wear costumes  ,have street parades and have fun.

The events that led to the holiday of Purim can be found in Megillat Esther ,

Megillat Esther is the only book in the Scriptures that never mentions Hashem's name even once. The miracle of Purim is a hidden one, (with the hand of Hashem only revealed through the incredible events). But when you 'read between the lines' you see the Hand of Hashem. There are no coincidences in the story.

Spring is in the air

The 2 months that I  less like weather wise are January and February ,it is always cold,windy,grey and colorless.

This year we had an extremely cold February and for the first time after many years we had heavy snow on mountain tops and in Jerusalem what brought some joy especially to kids that had a chance to skip school and play in the snow.

At the first week of March the weather changed ,some blue skies are seen again ,temperatures are rising and effects everyone and everything-yes the weather is dictating our lives, we seem more joyful when it is sunny and warm and become more open and welcoming.

The first that feels the turnover from Winter to Spring are the animals,the trees and the flowers,so we took a drive up north to Mount Tavor and this is what we saw….
