Lincoln City & Area OR

Chinook Bend River Resort was our "home" for the next 3 days.

The resort is located just 10 miles out of the city and next to a river, the sites are spacious ,on the grass and have full hookups including ctv.

Wifi reception only near the office building which is quite away from the c.g

after getting settled we immediately took off to the information office down town and we are sure happy we did this.

The lady was very nice and informative, we learned that there is a kite festival on the weekend on beach and free music in the evening, so we walked the downtown and enjoyed great jazz music the same evening.

On the following day (Saturday) we hit the beautiful Lincoln City Beach to watch the Kite Festival.

This was real fun ,some team work by four operators gave an outstanding coordinate show each one with one kite creating a musical kite dance, we just loved it.clip_image002clip_image004

Afternoon we drove North along the coast towards Pacific City and stopped at almost every place possible with a great view including walking the beach to watch sea lions and the extra beautiful sunsets.

On the next day we headed South towards Newport and South Beach, it was another great scenic drive, the beaches, lighthouses, bridges ,marinas and the small towns are like taken from a book, I could ride this road again and again and not get bored.

It was a bit fogy but it sometimes just added to the atmosphere.

At the Yaquina Head natural area and near the lighthouse we were very lucky to spot two Bald Eagles from a distance but with my camera lance I was able to get these two beauties.

A huge bridge is connecting Newport to South Beach both nice towns with RV parks and marinas from where whale watching and fishing boats take off.

One of the best Clam Chowders were found in a small place in Newport and we just caught it before the they closed for the day.

On the way back we stopped to see the Devil Punchball an itresting formation created by the wind and water.

Just before we thought that is it for today we had this beautiful parade of deers greeting us as we were entering our C.G.

Danny, those beautiful animals aren't deer, those are Elk. You lucky guys to see them so close. I'm jealous. And I have yet to get a picture of an eagle. Sure enjoy your travels. Makes me really want to get back out to the coast again.
