2005 4TH RV trip-North New Mexico-Colorado

This year we started from Albuquerque after visiting the balloon festival that took 3 days, it is a event that is worthwhile to see.
Air balloons from all sizes and shapes colored in magnificent colors were taken off from the field at the same time, that was a sight to see-wooow, at night the lights were lighed reflecting the colors from the balloons and it was just
beautiful.
As we travel with a general plan and have no time schedule it is easy to take the road to non planed places like the one we took after hearing about it in a cowboy store, we headed towards THE hunters gathering in North New Mexico.
These is one of the pleasant surprises that can lighten your day, people lived in a camp like the old days wearing leather and shooting black powder-it sure was an adventure.
Morris and Lavern from Texas were camping next to us and since then we are in touch through the net, Morris is a great fi
sherman and I learned a thing or two from him.
Colorado with its amazing scenic area welcomed us and we took it with two hands, lakes, sand dunes,National parks and wild life amazing.
Getting closer to Edmonton we traded our good old 5W for a 2006 new Cruiser from Crossroads.
The dealer took good care of us and agreed to store the rig in his place for the winter- Thanks Doug.

2004 3RD RV trip-AZ,UT,N.M

Arizona,Utah and New Mexico is blessed with Natural Parks ,Natural Hot Springs ,Caves and open land as an eye can see.
We have hiked in Bruce N.P ,Zion N.P,Black Canyon and others thinking that each park was created by artists that competed among themselves who is going to create the most beautiful one- I have no idea who won...they are all unique and can be visited again and again.
Each hike showed another angle, color and shape and did not stop from amazing us.
We also were invited by my cousin Marcus to join a rafting group for a week on the Green River, it sure was a great experience.
The views, company, food and weather were just outstanding.
In our last days before flying out from Albuquerque we meet Dennis and his family in a C.G , and before the evening ended we had a place to store our rig for the whole winter in his son yard...

2003 second RV trip -CA-AZ

We spent a great winter back home, visited all the small places we loved to go,walked on the beach that is especially nice and non crowded during this season and spent a lot of time withe family and friends.
During the winter we have planned our next RV trip , I love this part of the trip planning is a lot of fun,I consult with RV forums and use the Internet .
This trip will start from Edmonton (the place we stored the rig last Autumn)through Oregon coast,California coast and end in Phoenix Arizona.
The rig held well in the harsh cold weather in Alberta and it was a pleasant surprise to insert the batteries and hear the trucks engine start..what a relief..

Here we are on the road again, happy to get away from the city to nature.
Following the Oregon coast all the way to the California coast was a great treat, huge beautiful beaches and rock formations that we never experienced before.
We also had the opportunity to meet my cousin Marcus and his family in California and Ray McIntyre in Half moon bay and had a great time with them both.
Visiting Sonoma Valley was an outstanding experience, the tastes the smell were overwhelming, hard to keep straight on your feet...
We also took some time in Las Vegas to see "Paris,Venice,Egypt ..."
Arizona was a lot of fun and hot,
Lake Havasu,Tombstone and meeting with Rody and family made the trip Worth every minute.
We stored the rig in Phoenix (no need to winterize...) and took the road home.
Till we meet again..

2002-First RV trip to Alaska

Our first RV experience started in Edmonton,we knew that we wanted to RV but had no idea what and how to purchase a RV.
It took us 2 weeks to figure out what we want and what we could afford.
Finlay we purchased a Ford F-250 1994 Turbo diesel 7.3 Lt (have it till today) and a 27" 5W with one slide 1996 in a perfect condition.
It looked as a good choice as we love to hike and do side trips without having to pull a small car behind, just leave the trailer in the C.G and tour the area with the tow.
It took us another 10 days to get the paper work, stock the fridge and learn how to use the rig and we were on our way NORTH.
Edmonton-Jasper-Banff-Vancouver Island-Yukon-Alaska and back all in 5 fantastic months.
It was fantastic, the nature, people, hikes and wild life we experienced was way above our expectations.
My cousin Marlon & his wife Sally( a local Alaska girl)live in Nanwalek across the English canal and we had the great opportunity to stay with them for a while and experiance their way of life, enjoy the wilderness,go fishing with no time limit but the tides and meet my family-oh that was OUTSTANDING-thanks Marlon&Sally.
We meet Yariv and Ayelet in Anchorage in the beginning of August that joined us for a whole month traveling around Alaska, it was a pleasure having them with us.
We actually had to pinch ourselves that we are DOING it,after so many years of dreaming about getting away and exploring North America with no time table and as flexible as possible.
strong>Yes we were living our dream and not from the window of our
room, it took some planning and of course being away from home ,family and friends for 5 months but "you can not eat the cake and still have it".....
To all our friends we say "do what you want if you can afford it".
We stored the rig in a C.G near Edmonton, winterized it and flew home just to start from the same spot next spring....what a journey...
