Second day in Rosman NC- day trip in Pisgah National Forest area NC

You know the saying :“with food comes the  appetite “ well we had a such a nice day yesterday hiking some of many waterfalls in the area that we planned to hike some more today and in the next days.

In the evening we invited Mary and Loren for some “Blinches” (like Pancakes with cheese) and some strong coffee and hit the sack after getting our hiking gear ready for the next day hike.

Around 6AM sound of dropping rain on our trailer roof waked me up with a bad feeling that this might change our plans,so I jumped to my laptop to check the weather condition in the area and found out that in Florida area there are floods,in New Mexico there are fires and in our area it will be ONLY raining- so we are in good shape here and simple rain will not stop us from hiking the falls.

We packed a lunch, got our raincoats and took HWT 215 North towards Blue Ridge PKW,we pooled into various look outs to see the clouds “sitting” on top of the mountains,it was wet but beautiful.

Around noon we got hungry and found a picnic area with a rooftop over the table and sat down zipping hot coffee  with crackers and cheese,it was wet again but we took it as it comes.

Finally we got to Moore Cove Falls parking lot and hiked a mile r/t to and from the falls, and yes again it was wet but as we can not control the weather why waist energy on the subject.

The falls were just beautiful and can be reached from behind them as well but with the rain going on I expected them to be more full.

A mile South from there we stopped to see the most photographic falls in NC the Looking Glass Falls, here we did not have to hike more that few feet to see the magnificent Looking Glass Falls.

It was another great day but I realized again that our lives and what we do is dictated by the weather.

Till we meet again.

I so understand what you mean about the weather not stopping you. We went to Craters of the Moon yesterday and the wind was howling, it was only 37 degrees, and it actually snowed and sleeted. But we hung in there. I love waterfalls and these were beautiful.
