We have almost completed our Nevada tour that was a complete good surprise weather and nature wise, entering Nevada from the East at Baker and hitting all the interesting places on the way West, but our visit can not be completed without visiting the North West corner of Nevada: Tahoe Lake,Carson City,Virginia City,Truckee and the Valley South of Carson City.
We placed our 5W in the Virginia City C.G for a week planning to do side trips to cover the area.
The C.G had full hook ups,WiFi,cable TV ,great scenery and very clean bathrooms, all this for 180$ per week….
Virginia City sprang up as a boomtown with the 1859 discovery of the Comstock Lode, the first major silver deposit discovery in the United States, and numerous mines were opened. At the city's peak of population in the mid-1860s, it had an estimated 25,000 residents. The mines' output declined after 1878, and the city declined. As of 2010 Censusthe population of Virginia City was about 855 with 4,000 living in Storey County.
Our visit to the city started after having lunch on the same arrival day (no waste time there),we strolled the main vibrant street ,visited some shops, took a trolley drive and ended listening to some live music in two bars ,all in a day work…
Many stories are told about the “Good Old Days” , one of them is about a gambler that killed himself after loosing a lot of money playing at the table and it is called the “Suicide Table”
Mark Twain also left a mark in Virginia City and it was very interesting to learn about him and his legacy.
We are looking forward for a very interesting week ahead of us and as always A NEW DAY WITH NEW ADVENTURES we just love it.

We had a great time wandering the streets of Virginia City. Sometimes those tourist places can be a lot of fun.
