Green Bay WI

Map picture

Entering Wisconsin from Michigan we stopped at the Welcome Center and collected brochures and events lists on counties in Wisconsin that we planned to visit  ,with the kind help of the great staff we also managed to reserve a site in Egg Harbor in Door busy county that would be our next stop after Green Bay.

Loaded with food, gas (cheaper than in Canada) ,RV site reserved in Door county and with a song in the heart we made our way to Green Bay.

Our first stop in Wisconsin was in Oneida Casino  Green Bay Wisconsin near the Airport, there are only few RV spots with 30A electrical hookups (15 $ ) but we were fortunate to get a spot because the opening football game took place on the 9th of August in town and all the motels, hotels and RV parks were full.

Our RV neighbors told us that they came all the way from Michigan to the game that starts at 7PM but they will be there at 2PM for the Tailgate party and suggested us to see this pregame gathering .

On the next day we drove to High Bluff S.P on the Winnebago Lake and did some hiking along the rim ,,it is 3M easy hike   that took us to great view points with great Bluffs that are a part of the Niagara plate.

The weather was just perfect and we could enjoy this beautiful day in the park that was almost empty from visitors-may be they were all t the Football Game….

As we arrived to the Casino RV park I realized that we are very short with water and there was no way to fill ,so we took cloths ,shampoo , soap to the SP and used the their facilities to wash after the hike.

On the way back we drove through Appleton that accordingly to the news was hit badly by a tornedo just few days ago ,but saw no signs of damage.

Our next stop on the way to the C.G was the Football arena to experience the  Tailgate party,we reached the stadium 3 hours before the game starts but the arena parking lot  was already full ,all the business places, private houses, gas stations offered parking for 10-20$ depending on the distance to the arena and some even offered tickets to the game, but everyone was barbequing and having fun and was nice to see-unfortunately we learned later that the Green Bay team lost to the Cardinals….
