Pewits Nest State Natural area & Natural Bridge Wisconsin

As we were visiting an art gallery in Prairie Du Sac not far from Baraboo our eye caught a great picture of a Waterfalls in a Gorge with beautiful green vegetation,we asked the artist where about was this picture taken and how did he manage to catch the whole scene, the gallery was empty and he was very happy to explain us how he stitched 3 shots to create the picture,he also pulled a map from the computer and marked on it the place where he captured this picture with his camera.

We did not need more than that,we looked one at each  other and without another word knew that this will be our next stop,the Gorge is located in Pewits Nest State Natural area just next to S.Baraboo WI,it is not marked,not advertised and seemed like a hidden secret,even with the directions we had it was not easy to find,entering the Natural area we had to search for the falls as there were no directions what so ever and no one to ask , so we wondered around trying few trails till we herd the sound of water and followed the sound to this beautiful scene.

On the way to the place we stopped to see Wisconsin Natural Bridge that also seemed to be a secret somehow,even people living in the area knew nothing about the existence of these jewels,I hope I am not spoiling Wisconsin’s best kept secret here.

     

I am sure that there are more hidden jewels to discover and it will fun to find them.
