On our last day in Amery Wisconsin we visited Willow River S.P WI ,it has 3 camp grounds , 2 of them have shaded sites (some with electrical hookups)under trees and only tents & small trailers can get in,the other C.G can accommodate bigger rigs.
The park has a nice beach,a dam and a nice waterfall,its worth taking the 1.5 mile easy hike one way to see the falls and walk on the rocks at the bottom
.
The park looked like it urgently needed a “good” rain ,all the grass and the vegetation except next to the beach and the picnic area was dry and gave the impression of not taken care after,which seemed strange with all the water around it.
The trail to the falls followed the lake and a steam with some huge trees that compensated a bit on the general dry picture of the park.
I believe that after a rainy season the park is a great place for the whole family.
