Snoqualmie WA

It took me a day just to be able to pronounce the name of this outstanding beautiful town, but it sure provided an excellent scenery , great downtown with an old depot and a huge waterfalls with a short distance from the parking lot.

There is a short steep half a mile trail which we took to the base of the falls that also Leeds to the river and the electric plant.

And this is how it looked many years ago….

The area is so great that all we wanted was to stay more, but as we are walking along the main drag a blind person approaches us and asks us to help him find the burger stand that every year on Depot Day was in the same place ,but he could not find it this year.

Shula stayed with him as I went around to find the burger boot that for some reason was not there this year, so the three of us walked in a coffee shop , had some drinks and got to know a little about each other.

He (I do not know if he would like his name published) was thrilled to meet people from Israel that the next thing we knew he invited us to his place and told us about his work and how he became blind including the tragic story of losing his wife after a battle with cancer.

We meet him in the early afternoon when we were on our way to a park on the river to have our picnic ,but the meeting changed it all, we got into our truck and drove to his place where we shared our picnic not before he insisted to get a bottle of wine.

I have Goosebumps as I am writing this down , the guy lost his eye sight not long time ago from a sickness, he lost his wife to cancer just 2 years ago, he lives alone and helps another family ,he has a great sense of humor and thinks positively , the whole event was very emotional and it was hard to say goodbyes to him even though we meet only for few hours .

We exchanged cell phone numbers ,the only way to be in touch from the obvious reasons and promised to come to visit him again in the future, WHAT A GREAT GUY.
