Just before we left the Jasper area we made a stop at the local Motorcycle gathering to visit our new friend Scott Nobel and his wife ,they both are running the bike store and the rallies that take place in this beautiful location.
Our next destination was the Golden Pond RV Park in Shirley AR, it is owned by a young great couple that are doing everything to make you feel at home, there are full hookups,WiFi ,Cable TV connection ,PT sites and shade ones.
We plan to stay in this location for 4-5 days to hike,visit springs,caves and attend music shows .
After the first night even though it rained we took off to Mountain View AR , a small beautiful charming town with colourful shops ,restaurants and antique shops –all in a walking distance.
We had lunch in a Mexican restaurant and great Yogurt in the coffee shop before we took of to The Ozark Folk Center located in the North part of the town.
Before the show we visited an old restored village in the park where one could see old trades as they were done in the good old times.
The Folk show took place at the beautiful auditorium at 7PM and took 2 full hours , this kind of music was new to us and we enjoyed the songs,dances and the band very much.
The stretch on the curly and some times steep HWY 9 from Mountain View to Shirley at 9PM was no fun at all, but we made it in one piece.
The combination of enjoying a variety of activities that we like makes it so wonderful especially when it comes in the right dosses;Hiking,Music,Meeting People,all this in our own pace and there is always a new day ahead and new places to discover- tomorrow a hike to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain located on an Island….. if weather permits.
